The weather was great, there was lots of food, baked goods, games, slide, magic show and good family fun.

Another round of thanks to our wonderful Book Fair Co-Chairs, Kat Alioshin and Casie Walker!  Their team worked very hard to make this year’s book fair a huge success and best of all, our students enjoyed the wonderful variety and quality of books.  Make sure you mark your calendars for the Spring Book Fair…Volunteers always welcome! REMINDERS:

  • Make a donation to PiE (Palo Alto Partners In Education) in November (from November 2 to November 20) and it will be doubled by matching funds up to a total of $250,000 districtwide.
  • Parents, please sign in when you come to Juana Briones, and pick up an official Juana Briones Permit to Leave Class in the office to take your child out of class early. We will increase enforcement of these two policies in November because we have had a few cases of parents taking students home without notifying the office.
  • Conferences and Compacts are finishing up in a week or two. All parents should attend the fall conference, where you will receive the first of three Progress Reports and you will sign the Juana Briones Compact.

Please call the office if your child is sick or away

CALL (650): 856-0877 or E-mail the School Office (Maria or Sharon) BEFORE 8:00 AM, so that we are able to mark your child properly ‘Absent’.

ABSENCES

State Law requires that all absences be verified by a note or telephone call from a parent to the school. For best results, please telephone the school early in the morning on the first day of an illness or other absence at 856-0877.

Please keep your child at home until he or she is completely recovered from an illness and able to participate in school activities. Please send your child to school if he/she is healthy enough to attend school. Avoid unnecessary absences that disrupt your child’s learning.
